Docents enhance the museum experience through learning activities, presentations, and expanding on exhibit content.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteer docents work in the George W. Bush Presidential Museum to help welcome and orient guests, answer questions about the exhibits, and ensure that each guest’s experience is informative and enjoyable. Docents enhance the museum experience through learning activities, presentations, and expanding on exhibit content.

Docents also assist with the Bush Center’s public programming, which includes the Engage at the Bush Center series presented by NexPoint as well as presenting experiences for students, educators, and community members.

REQUIREMENTS

Due to the sensitive nature of Presidential materials, volunteers must be at least 16 years old, successfully pass a background check, and sign a confidentiality agreement.

Other requirements include:

  • Available to work a 4.5-hour shift per week on a non-paid basis.
  • Verbal communication and customer service skills are helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic computer skills.
