Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program alumnus Adam Davies discusses the inspiration behind his personal leadership project ‒Vet it ‒ an online platform that reimagines the way veterans access and share career insights.
Veteran Leadership Program alumnus Adam Davies, a Deloitte consultant, is giving transitioning veterans the ability to take “career deep dives” via his passion project, Vet it, which helps veterans make more rational, intentional, and informed career decisions.
Vet it is an online platform that reimagines the way veterans access and share career insights. The online hiring and employment tool empowers veteran career decisions and improves the way veterans and employers connect by sharing finely detailed transition experiences and enabling empathetic conversations.
“The whole Vet it premise is based around culture, job description, and expectation management for veterans as they transition,” said Davies, who founded the platform in 2019.
As a former United States Army officer himself, Davies recognized the need for a better hiring search process for transitioning veterans because of his personal experiences and those of his peers.
“It was so hard for me to figure out what I wanted to do after I got out of the military…. It’s a struggle. I saw my friends struggle, and I saw my family members struggle,” Davies said.

Because of Vet it’s unique approach to hiring, relationship building, and skill building, military veterans and employers are creating more enduring professional matches.
Since its founding in 2019, Vet it has created over 5,000 productive and empathetic career transition-related reviews, conversations, and connections between about 1,000 active-duty service members, veterans, and spouses. The website’s job platform feature recently went live with more than 100,000 job openings across the United States.
