NATO provides the United States and 30 other countries the strongest military alliance in history. David Kramer, Bush Institute Executive Director, explains how NATO is critical to our country’s security. In this two-minute take, he reminds us of the importance of Article 5— if a NATO member country is attacked, it’s an attack against all member countries.
“There’s only been one time Article 5 has been invoked, that was after the terrorist attacks on 9/11 here in the United States,” Kramer said. “We want to make sure we never have to invoke Article 5 ever again.”
