Whether you’re planning your summer road trip or simply looking for cooler activities to escape the Texas heat, the George W. Bush Presidential Center is the perfect summer destination. From viewing a limited-time art exhibit by President George W. Bush to putting yourself in the President’s shoes in the Situation Room, here are five can’t-miss experiences at the Bush Center this summer:
- View A Shining City on the Hilltop for a limited time only
Experience a new exhibit of paintings by President George W. Bush in the place that inspired the collection. A Shining City on the Hilltop features 35 works that capture the spirit of the people who make up the Bush Center and SMU’s campus. Open now through Oct. 19. - Sit at the Resolute Desk
History comes to life in our full-scale replica of the Oval Office, where you can step back in time to what the room looked like during the Bush Administration. Take a photo behind the famous Resolute Desk – a favorite for visitors of all ages. Physical and/or digital options will be available to purchase at the Museum’s admissions desk.
- Step into the Situation Room
Experience a deep dive into the history of the Situation Room, also known as the “Sit Room”, during a 30-minute seated presentation. Afterward, explore the Situation Room as it was used by President George W. Bush during critical moments of his presidency. Register in advance to secure your spot.
