Here is a partial list of organizations working to provide humanitarian relief to the Afghan people on the ground and to refugees.

EDUCATION SUPPORT FOR AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS

Afghan Future Fund
The Afghan Future Fund supports at-risk Afghans by providing both emergency assistance and longer-term programming for educational, professional, and personal development.

Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL)
AIL is working to raise literacy rates; teach job skills enabling women to contribute to their families and communities; ensure women and children are safe and know their rights; and provide access to health care, education, legal aid, and food aid. The organization is distributing food, vitamins, Ensure, Pedialyte and other such treatments for the county’s starving people and is expanding its services as rapidly as possible.

American University of Afghanistan (AUAF)
As the only private, liberal arts, and not-for-profit co-education University in the nation, AUAF continues educating students both inside and outside of Afghanistan.

Aschiana Foundation
Aschiana strives to provide a safe haven for children to learn basic and vocational skills, as well as nourish and keep them off the streets.

Asian University for Women
AUW is an international university in Bangladesh that seeks to educate a new generation of women leaders, including Afghan students.

Code To Inspire
CTI uses technology education and outreach to provide Afghan women with leverage in their fight for social, political, and economic equality.

Digital Citizens Fund: Afghan Robotics Team
DCF’s mission is to support women and girls in gaining access to technology and education to obtain the skills they need to achieve financial independence. Their classes have built the abilities of tens of thousands of girls in Afghanistan – and have contributed to a culture of hope and aspiration.

Eagle Online Academy
Eagle Online Academy’s mission is to offer quality, flexible and online educational programs globally that are valuable both personally and professionally to women’s livelihood and entrepreneurship.

Institute For International Education
IIE works to assist Afghanistan’s Higher Ed students, scholars, and artists who are under threat with their Artist Protection Fund, Refugee EdTech Program, and Emergency Student Fund.

Learn Afghanistan
Founded in 2018, Learn Afghanistan is working to train teachers and expand educational access for girls, boys, and women in Afghanistan. LA has educated thousands and trained dozens of teachers in digital literacy. Since the international withdrawal, the organization is also working to assist internally displaced individuals and ensure that these families have access to necessities.

Pathway Program
The Pathway Program provides virtual schooling and personal development for Afghan girls in grades 7-12 in hopes of empowering Afghan parents, students, and educators, with low, and no-cost options.

Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation
Founded by Razia Jan, the organization is dedicated to expanding the possibilities for girls and young women in Afghanistan and is raising funds for school expenses, including expanded enrollment for new students whose families have been displaced to the region, and funding for the staff, students, and families affected by ongoing instability.

Scholars At Risk
Financial assistance is available for scholars currently at risk, including writers and artists.

School Of Leadership, Afghanistan (SOLA)
SOLA is the only boarding school for girls in Afghanistan. The students have departed from Kabul and are currently abroad where they intend to begin a new semester.

HUMANITARIAN RELIEF

CARE
Your gift will provide equally distributed direct cash assistance for Afghan women and men to empower whole families to purchase food, hygiene products, and whatever else they need most.

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
The ICRC provides much-needed health and humanitarian support and works to protect and assist those in need in Afghanistan and other Taliban-controlled areas.

US Fund for UNICEF
UNICEF recently launched an appeal for $192 million to support vulnerable families and children who are struggling amidst Afghanistan’s escalating humanitarian crisis.

World Food Programme
WFP provides unconditional, fortified and nutritionally-balanced food assistance to vulnerable groups including people displaced by conflict, those affected by disasters, refugees, returnees from neighboring countries, and people affected by seasonal food insecurity.

World Relief Donations
Donations are used to promote peace and justice in violence-stricken regions like Afghanistan.

Women for Afghan Women
WAW works to provide safe shelter, resources, and aid to the thousands of women, children, families, and staff who are under its care.

Onward for Afghan Women
Donations will help the evacuation of at-risk women activists, journalists, politicians, peacebuilders, and their families and provide support so that they can be resettled with dignity.

Rukhshana Media
Founded in 2020, Rukhshana Media is an online news agency focused on covering issues that affect women of Afghanistan. Since its establishment, Rukhshana has reported exclusively on issues that affect Afghan women, from the taboo of menstruation, child marriage, street harassment, and economic hardship to violence and gender discrimination and what it means to live as a survivor of rape.

The Afghan Welcome Fund provides flexible funding that supports the immediate needs of our new Afghan neighbors.

HIAS
HIAS works around the world to protect refugees who have been forced to flee their homelands because of who they are, including ethnic, religious, and sexual minorities.

International Rescue Committee
