Monica Vegas Kladakis

Since 2015, Monica Kladakis has worked as a consultant for the George W. Bush Institute, currently serving in the role of Senior Advisor for Outreach and Strategic Partnerships.

Kladakis has held numerous positions in both the executive and legislative branches of government, as well as in the non-governmental sector.  These include serving as Senior Advisor for Human Rights and Democracy at the McCain Institute for International Leadership; managing the Governance division at the International Republican Institute; and serving as Managing Director for Threshold Programs at the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Kladakis also served in the White House as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director for Presidential Personnel in the George W. Bush administration, and was Senior Coordinator for Democracy and Human Rights Promotion in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the U.S. State Department.  Kladakis worked on Capitol Hill in various capacities including in the Majority Whip’s office as a floor assistant and as an Appropriations Committee aide.

Kladakis holds a B.S. in Linguistics, with minors in Government and Russian, from Georgetown University.  She speaks Spanish fluently, and Russian and French conversationally.
