U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch to discuss new book at the Bush Center

Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law delves into the complexity of America’s legal system

DALLAS, Texas – The George W. Bush Presidential Center will welcome sitting U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch on Sept. 7 to discuss his new book, Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law at a special edition of Engage at the Bush Center, presented by NexPoint.

Media interested in credentialing for the event may visit, www.bushcenter.org/credentials.

Justice Gorsuch suggests in the book that an explosion in the number of American laws and their complexity has made them reach so deeply into our lives that it’s worth asking whether we’ve gone too far – particularly since the punishments they carry are increasingly severe. In addition to laws passed by our elected representatives, some regulations from government agencies carry the weight of law but without democratic accountability.

Bush Center President and CEO Ken Hersh will moderate the conversation which will more closely examine America’s legal framework.

The event is sold out to the public. To view the livestream and other upcoming Bush Center events, go to: https://www.bushcenter.org/events-and-exhibits.

After the 6 p.m. conversation at the Bush Center, Justice Gorsuch will sign copies of his book for event attendees in the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Hall of State.
