Bush Center brings sports analyst, author, and former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho to SMU

Acho to be featured speaker at the Community Conversation part of the Forum on Leadership on April 24

Dallas, Texas — Emmanuel Acho, former NFL player, #1 New York Times bestselling author, sports analyst, and thought leader, will be the featured speaker on April 24 at the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Community Conversation supported by SMU, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, and NexPoint.  

The Community Conversation is part of the Bush Center’s Forum on Leadership, an annual landmark gathering that develops, recognizes, and celebrates leadership. Scheduled for April 23-24, 2025 at the Bush Center, the Forum is by invitation only with public viewership available through a livestream. However, the Community Conversation, featuring Acho at SMU’s McFarlin Auditorium will be open to the public.

Acho is known as the host of the groundbreaking video series “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man”; New York Times bestselling author of the book by the same name and other titles including Illogical; TED Talk speaker; Emmy-winning television broadcaster; and former linebacker for two NFL franchises. During this special conversation moderated by Hersh, Acho will share personal experiences about challenging the status quo and making lasting change.
