About the Freedom Matters Exhibit
Freedom Matters uses rare artifacts and historical documents, interactive activities, and personal perspectives to examine the concept of freedom: where it comes from, what it means, what free societies look like, and the role of the individual in protecting and spreading freedom around the world.
Documents on display include a 14th-century copy of the Magna Carta and rare versions of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights, as well as other pivotal documents and objects from world history, including the newspapers chronicling women’s suffrage, the Emancipation Proclamation and rare books by thinkers from Jean-Jacques Rousseau to Martin Luther King, Jr.
